Sprouts in my Window

One of the easiest ways to have fresh greens year round is by growing sprouts. Winter, spring, summer or fall, they grow beautifully in any weather right inside our kitchen. The easiest way to start is by growing a few jars of sprouts on the counter. These produce food in 2-5 days depending on the bean, seed or grain you're growing. This is ideal for people who have very little space to grow.

Next would be sprouts on trays; growing micro-greens like sunflower, buckwheat, pea or wheatgrass. Once you have a simple system set up, it really is a breeze to grow a new batch of healthy greens, ready for harvest within 7-10 days. So simple and inexpensive! And satisfying too, knowing we are growing organic greens right in our kitchen.
